Welcome to the 5th SFCNS Congress

Dear colleagues and friends

On behalf of the whole SFCNS and its scientific committee it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 5th SFCNS Congress from Wednesday 28.09. - Friday 30.09.2022 at the Congress Center Basel, Switzerland.

SFCNS was founded in 2009 starting with 6 founding societies (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Neuropediatrics, Neuropathology and Clinical Neurophysiology). Over the last 11 years the federation has grown and comprises most if not all societies and individuals involved in managing diseases of the central nervous system in Switzerland.

For the first time a motto has been chosen for the congress with the goal to emphasize the major changes expected in medicine, health care professionals and patients in the next decade: “Transforming Education and Healthcare in the Digital Age”. This motto has been taken up in the various parallel sessions where applicable.

Together with the scientific committee - which are representatives of the 16 member societies - an exciting program has been developed. The program beginning on Wednesday and ending on Friday evening consists of 6 Plenary Sessions, 25 Parallel Sessions, ePoster Sessions and Satellite Symposia.

In addition, for the 1st time, the neurological nursing symposium will take place on Wednesday.
On Thursday the SFND/ASDN and on Friday IG-NOPPS will organize their own whole day meeting.
Following the SFCNS Congress the SFCNS Imaging Course - Modul IV is planned at the University Hospital in Basel.

The main topics of the Plenary Sessions will cover Dementia, Artificial Intelligence, Gender, COVID-19 and game changing publications of the recent years.
The kickoff of the congress will be the 1st SFCNS Stakeholder Dialogue Session on dementia.
The topic of the Presidential lecture is dedicated to the strategies for systematic education despite increasing information overload.

Of course, all nursing professionals, interested parties and practice staff are also cordially invited to attend the SFCNS Congress and participate in the various training courses during the 3 days.

Don't miss the opportunity to meet up with your friends and colleagues not only from the neuro-science field but also from fields of technologies such as basic neuroimaging, robotics and artificial intelligence which are forming the future of the next generation as clinical neuroscientists.

We look forward to welcoming you to Basel the end of September 2022.
